Dublin Brewing is planning to open a new brewery with a winery taproom this summer in an 11,500-square-foot space on Wallace Avenue in Downingtown, according to a report from Breweries in Pennsylvania.

Owner and brewer Brendan Fitzgerald, who was born in Ireland, aims to offer a variety of beer styles, such as Irish dry stouts, IPAs, saison, red ale, and lagers, along with some barrel-aged beers.

The brewery will first utilize around 6,000 square feet of the available space, with 2,500 of that being the taproom. Behind the taproom will be the brewhouse, fermentation, and a kitchen.

“I’m doing the fit-out myself as I am a contractor by trade,” said Fitzgerald. “I’m planning on doing this as an electric brewhouse to start.”

The taproom will feature a 30-foot bar with seating for around 20 people. Overall, it will be able to fit 200 patrons.

“In addition to the taproom and winery space, we will have a large room for events, seating around 30 people, and a room for games,” said Fitzgerald. “I would love to get some shuffleboard in there!”

The brewery will also offer healthy food and some Mediterranean fare. Fitzgerald aims to have as many local ingredients as possible.
