Finland: Carlsberg A/S announced on January 13 that for the first time in its history, Carlsberg's Finnish subsidiary, Sinebrychoff, will add a non-alcoholic beer into a popular domestic product family with the introduction of Nikolai 0,0%.

The light golden Nikolai 0,0% is a fresh non-alcoholic beer, from which the alcohol has been removed after fermentation. This non-alcoholic option is a genuine, smooth-tasting beer, which is perfect for enjoyment whenever in need of a thirst-quencher.

Nikolai has the characteristics of a high-quality bottom fermented beer. For the health conscious, Nikolai 0,0% is a better option than normal beer: a decilitre of non-alcoholic Nikolai contains only 15 kcal, which is less than a glass of fat-free milk (33 kcal) or white wine (68 kcal).

Nikolai is sold in 0.33 litre cans, and will be available in January 2005 in shops, bars and restaurants, petrol stations and kiosks.
