USA: Constellation Brands, Inc. Chairman and CEO Richard Sands announced today that Constellation Brands is donating US$150,000 to the Tsunami relief efforts through a cash donation to AmeriCares.

“On behalf of Constellation employees worldwide, we wish to express our sympathy and support for those affected by the tragedy in South Asia,” said Sands. “We are truly grateful for the humanitarian aid organizations such as AmeriCares, who are tirelessly working to deliver essential medicines and vital water purification treatments to the areas most devastated by the tsunami.”

AmeriCares has mobilized emergency response teams and airlifts into Sri Lanka and India, with preparations underway for Indonesia. More than 155,000 people have died since the devastating earthquake and tsunamis hit these countries and others on Dec. 26th, 2004. AmeriCares’ aid is focusing on providing essential medicines, medical supplies, personal care items and vital water purification treatments.
