Chile: Chile’s per capita beer consumption is of 21.9 litres and is much lower than in many other South American countries. The best-selling brand in Chile is Heineken, with 38% market share. The second place is of Royal with 17%. Then comes Austral with 16%, Budweiser with 10%, followed by premium producers Kunstmann with 4.5% and Paulaner with 3%. Premium beer is the fastest growing segment in the Chilean beer market, and have already reached 9.6% market share. Leading premium supplies predict continued sales growth. Kunstmann has already seen its sales surge by 30% to date in 2004 since it tied up a distribution deal with giant brewer CCU.
