E-Malt.com News article: USA, NH: Beara Irish Brewing Company up for sale in Portsmouth
Brewery news

Four years after Beara Irish Brewing Company opened, the business is for sale and under agreement, while details are being kept secret, for the short term, Seacostonline.com reported on September 16.

Michael Potorti opened the brewery with his wife, Louise, because they found American beers “subpar,” they told the Portsmouth Herald two years ago. A message left on September 13 for Potorti was not returned by September 16, but the listing broker for his business, Martha Baroody, said an agreement for the sale is pending and there should be public news soon.

Baroody said if and when a sale is finalized, there will be an interesting story.

The business is listed for $170,000 and does not include the real estate at Heritage Commons, 2800 Lafayette Road. It does include brewing equipment, everything in the tasting room, a granite bar, taps, sinks, stools, tables, refrigeration and all brewery assets.

The Potortis started Beara Brewing Company in 2014 and partially launched it through an online Kickstarter fundraiser. Michael Potorti said he always wanted to brew Irish beer and when he was laid off from a job as an auditor in Portsmouth, he decided that was the time to make it happen.
