It’s about to be last call to enjoy a brew at Biddeford’s Dirigo taproom.

According to announcement posted on the business’s Facebook page, the Dirigo Brewing Company at 28 Pearl St. in downtown Biddeford will be closing for good on Sept. 14, the Bidderford Journal Tribune reported on September 1.

Until it closes, brewery taproom hours will continue from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sundays.

Dirgo Brewing Company first opened in the city on Aug. 19, 2016 and is owned by Tom and Molly Bull.

“A million thanks to our friends, family, staff, and colleagues in the Maine beer community for mountains of love and support over the years,” said a message from the owners posted on the brewery’s Facebook page. “Those of you who know us will understand when we say that our hearts go out to you.”

The Bulls say that Dirigo’s production brewery is to be sold to another Maine brewery before year’s end.

The new operator plans taproom renovations and build out of a restaurant space, they said.

“We are delighted that our successor is an experienced, successful Maine company who is as excited about Biddeford as we always have been,” the Bulls said. “Look for announcements in the weeks to come.”

According to its website, Dirigo Brewing Company is a craft brewery with classic and innovative styles in a historic mill with a breathtaking waterfall view and features live music on Saturdays.

“We cannot start our next chapter before finishing this one, so in the coming days and weeks, we hope to see you down by the Saco Falls enjoying the view and a few Dirigo pours while you still can,” the Bulls said. “Cans and barrel-aged Baltic Porter bottles to go are priced to move.”
