E-Malt.com News article: Latvia: Craft beer accounts for 26.4% of total beer production in H1 2019

Latvia’s small craft brewers produced 11 mln litres of beer in the first half of this year, or 26.4% of the nation’s total beer output over the reporting period, TVNet.lv reported on August 22 citing data by the State Revenue Service.

As of the end of June, 55 companies had the status of ‘small brewery’ in Latvia.

The nation’s total beer production in January – June amounted to 41.73 mln litres, which is 4.1% more than over H1 2018.

A recent poll by retail chain Maxima showed 94% of Latvians preferred domestic beers.
