Brewery news

A grand opening ceremony for the Maysville Brewing Company will be held on Friday, June 14, the Ledger Independent reported.

The brewery, owned by Tiffany and Brandon Fields, is located in the Limestone Square building on West Second Street in downtown Maysville.

The couple have worked for several years to make their dream of owning their own brewery.

“My husband has wanted to do this for probably 12 years now,” she said. “It’s been a dream of his for a long time. The timing was never right and location was never right. When William started on this building, I found out about it and told my husband about it. We thought it was perfect for what we wanted to do. This was just the perfect space.”

Brandon Fields said it all started with brewing at home.

“I used to brew at home and people really liked,” he said. “They told me I should sell it. I started with the kits and decided I wanted to make my own recipes. I tried it and they were really good.”

According to Tiffany Fields, the couple plans to start out very small with just a six-tap system, meaning they will only have six beers on tap with a different beer on each tap. Eventually, they hope to also bottle beer.

“All of the beer we will serve here will be brewed by my husband,” she said.

According to Brandon Fields, the couple are excited, but also nervous about the grand opening.

“We’re excited, nervous and overwhelmed,” he said.

“We’re ready for it to be a constant and get into a routine,” Tiffany Fields added.

Brandon Field’s vision for the business is having customers try something new and enjoying it.

“I want people to come in here and like the beers,” he said. “I want people to come into and understand there are beers they can transition to – that there are beers out there that are different. We want to make beer for the people in our hometown. We want to have something for everything.”

Tiffany Fields said she hopes to see the business expand.

“The response from the community has been overwhelming and fantastic, so we’ve already thought about that,” she said. “We’ve talked about bigger batches for beer and we’ve had a ton of people asking about events, so we need to look at space. We haven’t even opened yet and we’re already looking at expanding.”

According to Brandon Fields, in the current space, they hope to have some live music for customers to enjoy.

“With this space, we’ll probably have some acoustic sets if we can artists to do it,” he said. “There is a place in the front they can sit and have outlets for their equipment.”

Harry Pedigo will play at the business on June 24.

Tiffany Fields said she and her husband had looked at other locations previously, but it was not until they found the Limestone Square building that they decided to open the brewery.

“Over the course of the years we had looked for locations,” she said. “It would eventually just go away and it never felt right. Then something clicked with this location. My husband and William talked. The look of the location with the brick wall and vintage look was just perfect.”

Tiffany Fields said the city officials and residents have been very supportive.

“Owen McNeill has constantly stopped in to see if we need anything or if there is anything he can do to help,” she said. “The city and county has been so supportive and we appreciate everything.”

The hours of the business will be Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to midnight and on Sunday from 1-8 p.m.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the business will take place on June 14 at 4 p.m.

“After the ribbon cutting, we will be officially open for business,” Brandon Fields said.

McNeill said he was pleased to see the grand opening happening for the business.

“The grand opening of the Maysville Brewing Company marks the culmination of several months work and many years worth of dreams by Brandon and Tiffany Fields,” he said. “The Maysville-Mason County Industrial Development Authority could not be happier with their decision to not only invest in their dreams, but also invest in downtown Maysville. Throughout the process, from the design and concept stage to implementation, I’ve watched as the Fields family has been surrounded by the support and well wishes of the Maysville and Mason County community and that fact alone truly highlights what an incredible community we live in. Their hard work, determination and perseverance has certainly paid off in a top of line destination brewery concept that one could easily imagine succeeding in metropolitan areas much larger than Maysville. . I firmly believe that this moment only marks the tip of the iceberg, both for the Maysville Brewing Company and Maysville as a whole and I cannot wait to see what additional investments the future holds.”
