E-Malt.com News article: USA & Mexico: US beer imports up 4.6% in January-April with Mexican beer maintaining leadership

U.S. beer imports in January-April were 11.674 mln barrels, 4.6% up from 2017, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their July report.

Mexico shipped 8.18 mln barrels to the U.S., 70% of all imports and 9.5% more than in 2016.

In 2016 Mexico produced 105 mln hl of beer, 7.8% more than in 2015. The country produced 455,000 tonnes and imported 415,000 tonnes of malt. Mexico has become one of the top players in the world beer and malt market.
