Carlsberg Breweries A/S signed an agreement giving Carib Brewery Ltd. the rights to brew and distribute Carlsberg Beer in Trinidad & Tobago, along with other selected Caribbean markets.

Carlsberg's new partner, Carib Breweries, is part of the ANSA McAl Group of companies, which is one of the biggest corporations in the Caribbean region.

"The Caribbean region is a window to the world. Around 22 million international tourists visited the region in 2001, half of which came from the US, but also many from Europe… The Carib Breweries has a long tradition of exporting Carib Beer throughout the Caribbean, making Carib a leading regional brand and a strong strategic partner in the area for Carlsberg," said Søren Holm Jensen, Carlsberg Breweries' vice-president, Export, Licence and Duty Free.

The Carlsberg brand will add a world-renowned premium lager to Carib's portfolio of popular beers and beverages in the region.
