Belgian brewing group, Interbrew, which currently owns 40.92% of Pivovarna Union's shares, has declared that on July 22 it received from the Slovenian regulators the approval to launch a public tender offer for purchasing the remaining voting shares of Pivovarna Union, which it doesn't own yet.

Last week, Interbrew’s rival, Slovenian brewer, Lasko, launched a takeover bid for Pivovarna Union, which failed, thanks to Slovenian anti-monopoly regulators.

The Interbrew's tender offer will start on July 23 2002 and be valid for 28 days.
