Overshores Brewing Co. of East Haven, CT recently expanded the availability of their premium award-winning Belgian inspired beer by entering their fourth market in less than 18 months of operation. Massachusetts residents now have access to four of Overshores’ signature beers, Brewbound reported on October 26.

Available statewide is Overshores’ flagship “Tripel Brun,” a rich and complex Belgian strong dark. A limited supply of “Belgique du Noire,” an imperial Belgian style porter as well as limited quantities of “Blanc de Blanche Wit” and “Belle Fermiere Saison” are also available in 4-packs. Draft offerings are slated to become available as early as late November.

“We are so excited that New England is becoming a hotbed of Belgian style beers. There’s a lot of people burning out on IPA’s and looking for something that is still rich and interesting and goes with food, but isn’t super malty or super hoppy. That’s what we do,” said Overshores Brewing Co. founder and CEO, Christian Amport. “It’s all about the yeast.”

In addition to Massachusetts, Overshores beer is currently available in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Washington, DC. Partnering with Overshores in Massachusetts is Revolution Beverage (RevBev), a joint venture by Horizon Beverage Co. of Norton, MA, Quality Beverage of Taunton, MA, Williams Distributing of Chicopee, MA and Girardi of Pittsfield and Athol, MA.

“Horizon carries our brand in Rhode Island and they’ve knocked it out of the park for us,” noted Amport. “Naturally, we wanted to continue that success in Massachusetts. With RevBev we are confident we can build a solid foundation together.”

Overshores was founded while Amport was a graduate student at Boston College’s Carroll Graduate School of Management. “In many ways, this is a homecoming for Overshores,” reflected Amport who was a resident of the Bay State for four years and who met his wife, Stephanie, an alumna of Tufts University, while living in Boston. “Making the beer commercially available in Massachusetts has great significance for me, as well as for those who were involved in the company’s formation and initial funding.”

Overshores plans to continue its New England expansion to Vermont next and has partnered with Baker Distributing of Colchester and North Clarendon to initially bring “Tripel Brun” and “Belgique du Noire” bottles to the state by year end.
