Brewery news

Don Bynum and Tom Maxwell are in the final wild rush to September the 7th’s soft opening of Temblor Brewing, their new craft brewery and restaurant in Bakersfield, The Bakersfield Californian reported on September 2.

The pair are still working their day jobs in real estate and accounting while working mornings and nights at Temblor.

They’ve got a lot to do.

On September 2, kegs of their Streets of Bakersfield IPA, 661 Kolsch and Blister in the Sun Belgian Pale Ale hit Eureka Burger and Moo Creamery.

Head brewer Mike Lathi is finishing up work on the rest of the beers Temblor will have on tap when they open at 11 a.m. on Labor Day — Pierce Road Oatmeal Stout and Under a Blood Orange Sky Belgian Wit with Blood Oranges.

Temblor is also ramping up its kitchen, which will put out a simple menu of burgers, sandwiches, flat bread pizzas, wings, fries and salads. There will be a couple of desserts.

“We'd rather do a few items with expertise than a bunch mediocre,“ Maxwell said. ”I've taste tested everything and really think the community will be impressed with the fare.“

Things get moving this weekend with events for investors and for members of the Brick Founders Club, a group of 400 community supporters.
