Brewery news

Rhinegeist is installing a nano-sized brewery in Columbus, Central Ohio, according to the Ohio Beer Blog.

Co-owner Bryant Goulding described the Columbus setup as a “research and development brewery” to be used for experimental batches. It would be closed to the public, but it could make exclusive beers just for that local market.

The brewing operation will be in Rhinegeist’s new Columbus distribution facility at 457 Neilston Ave. in the Warehouse District. The company opened its 17,000-square-foot Central Ohio hub so it could grow its reach there.

Rhinegeist is only two years old but has rocketed to 11,000 barrels of annual production and is in the midst of a $10 million expansion that would take it to 30,000 barrels.
