About a year ago, Daredevil Brewing, located in Shelbyville (just southeast of Indianapolis), was looking to move and open a larger production facility, Flavor 574 reported on May 13.

Now, just over one year later, Daredevil is about to begin production at its new facility on Main Street in Speedway.

In a statement at the time of the announcement, Shane Pearson, co-owner of Daredevil, said, “Main Street, Speedway, is an iconic location that uniquely complements everything Daredevil is about. After months of due diligence evaluating locations, we found this incredible opportunity to acquire a former brownfield site that supports our business plans and allows us to be a part of the redevelopment of this historic place.”

Daredevil Brewing has now completed construction of its new production craft brewery facility and taproom at 1151 Main Street. The company is beginning brewing operations this month and will open the public taproom and patio on June 17.

“We are excited to welcome Daredevil Brewing Co to Main Street and our Speedway community,” said Scott Harris, executive director of the Speedway Redevelopment Commission. “A craft brewery strongly complements the growing diversity of local businesses we have on Main Street, Indianapolis and we can’t wait for it to open.”

Daredevil Brewing is one of the most recognized and fastest growing craft breweries in Indiana and has seen tremendous growth over the last three years. The company is relocating to the 2-acre site after making a $3 million investment in the construction of the new production brewing facility and taproom while also securing room for more expansion in the future.

“We are very excited to complete construction of the new production brewing facility,” Pearson said. “The new facility will allow us to greatly expand our brewing capacity.”

“Daredevil’s welcoming taproom and production craft brewery on provides an easily accessible destination that encourages even more residents and visitors to experience Speedway’s vibrant community,” said David Lindsey, president of the Speedway Town Council.

The Speedway Redevelopment Commission will celebrate the new business and its economic impact to the Town of Speedway with a grand opening ceremony on June 17.

Currently, Daredevil is not distributing its products to Michiana, Michigan. However, with the new production facility, it is my hope that we will soon see this beer on northwest Indiana shelves.
