Japan’s Asahi Group saw its overall beer sales decline by 3% in February and by 5% over the first two months of this year, the company’s website shows.

Beer sales dropped by 5 and 6% respectively, sales of low-malt happoshu beer were flat in February and increased by 2% in January-February, while sales of malt-based new genre drinks grew 3% in February and declined by 5% in January–February.

The sharpest decline in demand was registered by Asahi’s Super Dry Premium beer: minus 67.3% last month and minus 57.1% in January-February.
