China: Guangdong Brewery Holdings Limited said on May 20 it is planning to change its name to Kingway Brewery Holdings Limited’, after the name of the beer brand it makes and sells. Shareholders will vote on the name change at its annual general meeting, scheduled for June 15. " As the principal business of the Company is to produce, market and distribute ‘‘Kingway’’ branded beer, the Board believes that this change will strengthen the association of the Company with the ‘‘Kingway’’ brand and enhance promotion of ‘‘Kingway’’ branded beer, as is consistent with the Company’s strategy for development of the ‘‘Kingway’’ beer," Guangdong Brewery said in a legal notice.

The proposed change of the name of the Company will not affect any of the rights of the shareholders. Upon the change of name becoming effective, all existing share certificates will continue to be evidence of title to the shares in the new name of the Company and will continue to be valid for trading, settlement, delivery and registration purposes on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. Therefore, there will be no arrangement for the exchange of existing share certificates for new share certificates. Provided that the change of name of the Company becomes effective, any new share certificate issued thereafter will be in the new name of the Company.
