Brewery news

Capital Brewery is planning to break ground on a new $11 mln facility in Sauk City, a move that will boost the company's production capacity, Drinks Business Review reported on June 19.

Construction on the proposed 60,000ft2 facility is expected to begin in summer this year.

Initially, the facility will have a capacity to produce 40,000 barrels of beer, with plans to expand to 100,000 barrels over the future.

The brewing facility will focus on both bottling and canning operations.

Capital Brewery co-founder and president Scott Wiener said, "We've been canning beer since 1997.

"We were the first craft brewery to put beer in cans, but we've been sending it to Stevens Point. Now we'll have our own canning and packaging at the facility."

Apart from a brew house, the facility will also house a tasting room and office space.

Capital Brewery produces and distributes beers. It offers its products through restaurants and retail establishments in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota.
