Brewery news

Maui Brewing Co. recently entered into a partnership with San Diego-based Stone Brewing Co. to create a new distribution brand called “Maui-Stone Craft Beverages,” aimed at elevating craft beer awareness and bringing more craft beer to Hawaii, Pacific Business News reported on February 14.

Starting in April, Stone Brewing will begin shipping bottles and kegs to Maui from San Diego, including such brands as California’s AleSmith Brewing Co., Saint Archer Brewing Co., Port Brewing Co./The Lost Abbey, The Bruery-Placentia and Bear Republic Brewing Co., along with Colorado’s Avery Brewing Co. and Oskar Blues Brewery.

Maui Brewing Co. produced 400 barrels from its Kahana brew pub in 2005, and expanded to open the Lahaina brewery in 2007, producing close to 20,000 barrels in 2012.

It plans to move its production to a state-of-the-art brewery at the Maui Research and Technology Park in Kihei, which is expected to open this summer.

The move will help the company meet current demand and give it the ability to open additional markets.
