South African Breweries International (SABI), the subsidiary of the greatest brewery from South Africa – South African Breweries has signed an important contract with the subsidiary of Diageo , East African Breweries Limited (EABL)

According to this agreement SABI and EABL bind themselves to undertake changes in their operations from Kenya and Tanzania.

Hence , SABI has decided to close its operations from Kenya but for ensuring its presence in this country it will take 20% from the shares of Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), which is the subsidiary of EABL ,the brewer with which SABI has entered into agreement.

At its tour, EABL has closed its operations in Tanzania and will take control over a 20% stake in the SABI's brewery - Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL).

For this affair, the brewers won’t pay to each other any cash or other type of compensation.
