Poland’s brewers sold about 27.4 million hl of beer in 2003, 4.6% more than last year. However, Polish brewers are afraid of a drop in beer sales after May 1 when the tax on beer sales is to reach 22.5%. This tax is much higher than that applied in Germany and The Czech Republic.
