Brewery news

Portland, Oregon’s Cascade Brewing has announced a flurry of new offerings, Shanken News Daily reported on December, 5.

Earlier this week, the craft brewer launched Bourbon Bing Quad, a sour blonde quadrupel ale aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for 13 months before maturing an additional four months on 150 pounds of Bing cherries. Priced at $8 a glass and $3 a taster, the 10%-abv brew is joined at Cascade’s Barrel House by newcomers Pay Czech Pils IPA (7% abv) and Rain Walker Red (5.9% abv), both of which sell for $4.50 a pint.

Next week, Cascade will introduce Cascade Blueberry, a wheat and blonde ale blend aged in oak for up to 12 months, and subsequently aged on blueberries for an additional three. Additional rollouts, meanwhile, include Darkest Day IPA—brewed for the winter solstice on December, 21—and Vlad the Imp Aler, which is slated to launch in late January.
