E-Malt.com News article: USA, OR: Falling Sky Brewing to double capacity
Brewery news

With less than a year in business, Falling Sky Brewing is expanding as demand for its brew has been much higher than expected, kmtr.com reported on October, 24.

The brewery recently welcomed three new brew tanks at their location in Eugene.

Falling Sky has only been open in Eugene for nine months; however, the amount of beer and food they’re selling is at a level owners expected in three years.

The three new tanks will effectively double Falling Sky’s brew capacity. The brewery makes all of its own beer locally and demand has been intense, according to owners. Since it opened, Falling Sky has been brewing at capacity or about 2,500 gallons a month. That quantity of beer was barely enough to keep the restaurant stocked.

Now with about a 5,000 gallon monthly brew capacity, Falling Sky says it should have a much more stable beer menu. Today, they have about fourteen different varieties on tap all made in small batches. The brewery’s India Pale Ales have been selling fastest.

“We talk about it like it's a hassle,” laughs Jason Carriere, co-owner of Falling Sky Brewing. “And it is obviously quite a production, but it’s certainly the best kind of problem to have as a business owner. We're really, really happy with the way that Eugene has really embraced us and made us their own and we hope to continue that.”

Another bonus due to added capacity, Falling Sky says it will be able to expand its reach outside of Eugene. The brewery has gained interest from tap houses in Portland and elsewhere in Oregon that want to serve their beer.
