E-Malt.com News article: USA, NC: Oyster House Brewing changes location and expands brewing capacity
Brewery news

The Oyster House Brewing Co. moves from downtown to a bigger location. The brewery will expand from a half barrel system to a 3.5-barrel setup and will have a restaurant focused on oysters, citizen-times.com reported on September, 4.

Oyster House Brewing is best known for its Moonstone oyster stout, made with oysters.

The brewery will remain at the old location until the move is complete in early 2013, and it will continue supplying the restaurant with beer even after switching locations, he said. “I knew this would be the perfect place to make beer and sell oysters,” owner Billy Klingel said of the 2,000-square-foot former deli.

The new Oyster House brewery is the latest expansion in the city’s constantly changing brewing community.

Klingel said Oyster House had outgrown its small space and he had long planned to build a bigger operation elsewhere. He lives in West Asheville and said it’s a great location for a small brewery.

“We are all committed to the neighborhood here,” he said.
