Brewery news

Creemore Springs Brewery has announced plans to partner with Zum Schlüssel – a 162-year-old brewery brewpub in Düsseldorf, Germany – to develop a new beer marking the brewery’s 25th anniversary this summer, Canadian Beer News reported on February, 23.

Planned to be released in August during Creemore’s anniversary month, the beer will be an Altbier, a historic ale style common to Düsseldorf but not often brewed elsewhere.

Zum Schlüssel is one of five Düsseldorf brewpubs specializing in the style. This makes it a fitting ale style to be brewed by Creemore Springs, which has previously brewed exclusively lagers.

To do research for the new beer, Creemore brewmaster Gordon Fuller and head brewer Bryan Egan are travelling to Düsseldorf to brew for two days at Zum Schlüssel. Their trip will also include stops in Brussels and Köln.
