E-Malt.com News article: Australia: Foster’s appoints new managing director of its international beer division
Brewery news

Foster's Group has appointed James Doherty as managing director of its international beer division, News.com.au reported on August, 17.

Mr Doherty was previously managing director of developing markets and head of Quality Spirits International at distillers William Grant & Sons.

Foster's international beer division generates just 2.4 per cent of the brewer's sales revenue, with 97.6 per cent generated by the Australian and Pacific beer business.

The international beer business generates earnings from the sale, licensing and distribution of Australian beer brands in markets outside Australia and the Pacific.

Foster's chief executive John Pollaers said the appointment of Mr Doherty would help unlock the potential of Foster's international business.

"Our international division is an important part of our growth strategy," Mr Pollaers said in a statement.

"Our brands are currently distributed in 45 markets, and James's global drinks industry experience will enable us to unlock further international opportunities for Foster's by expanding our iconic portfolio into new markets, capitalising on consumer interest in premium international brands."
