Old Orange Brewing Company located in Orange, California, opened its doors on 16th of July, The Orange County Register reported on July, 18.

The brewery’s opening has been long awaited by many residents and by the owners themselves.

The idea of Old Orange Brewing Company was formed many years ago when Jerry Nine and three of his friends from Orange High School dreamed of opening their own brewery.

The group taught themselves to brew at home using a home brew kit purchased from the store.

Finally, two years ago, the friends, now in their early 40s, decided it was time to make their dream of opening a brewery a reality.

“It’s been a long road to get here,” Nine said. “We decided that we were all in a place in our lives where we could pursue this.”

The three beers on tap pay homage to the Orange area surrounding the brewery.

Street Fair, a light summer ale is named after the annual Street Fair in Orange, which dates back to the early 1900′s.

Ole Dummy, an American strong flavored ale, is named in memory of the trolley that once traveled in Orange.

The last beer, Cannon Ball, has special meaning to Jerry Nine. The India Pale Ale, which is a hoppy beer, is named after Nine’s late brother, who was given the nickname Cannon Ball by his cycling group.

Nine and his partners plan to eventually offer eight beers on tap, all brewed on site at their microbrewery. They are also planning to distribute beers to local restaurants and bars within the next month.

Prices range from $3 to $6 depending on the type and size of the beer. The brewery offers the beers in two sizes - a half pint and a full pint.
