Brewery news

On July 18th 2011 the 17 brewer-cyclists from Avery Brewing, Oskar Blues Brewery, Ska Brewing and Sierra Nevada Brewing will depart on their bicycles from Avery Brewing Company in Boulder to kick off the Third Annual Tour of Boul Durango: a five day, 470 mile odyssey over 6 majestic mountain passes from Boulder to Durango.

To commemorate this occasion, Avery Brewing Company and Ska Brewing have collaborated to brew Wheelsucker Wheat Ale together for the third year in a row, the two companies announced on July, 14.

Wheelsucker Wheat Ale is the Skavery interpretation of the perfect post-ride brew: a badass traditional Hefeweizen. Wheelsucker Wheat will be available on draft at the Avery Tap Room in Boulder and at the Ska Brewing Tap Room in Durango while supplies last.

Brewery representatives from Avery Brewing, Oskar Blues, Sierra Nevada and Ska Brewing will be on hand at the Avery Tap Room this on Sunday, July 17th beginning at 2:30 PM to tap Wheelsucker Wheat Ale, watch the Tour de France and raise money for the Boulder bike charity, Community Cycles. $3 from all pints sold from 2:30 to 6PM will go directly to Community Cycles, and all are welcome to join in on the fun, grab a Wheelsucker, watch The Tour and help send off the brewer-cyclists on their journey to Durango.

Established in 1993, Avery Brewing Company has developed a reputation as being one of the most daring and visionary breweries in the nation. They are the brewers of Avery IPA, The Maharaja Imperial IPA, White Rascal Belgian Wheat Ale, Mephistopheles' Stout and eighteen other year-round and seasonal beers.
