E-Malt.com News article: Canada: Barley exports slightly up in August 2010 – May 2011

According to the Canadian Grain Commission, grain exports from Aug 1, 2010 through May 29, 2011 stood at 24.4 mln tonnes (same period one year earlier 24.2), thereof 1.2 mln tonnes of barley.

The nation exported 1.1 mln tonnes of barley during the same period in 2009/10.

Domestic use to date of barley was reported at 1.4 mln tonnes (1.7 in August – May 2009/10).

Visible stocks of barley as of May, 29 stood at 0.4 mln tonnes (0.5 mln tonnes).
