Brewery news

Sapporo Breweries Ltd. will partially resume operations around May or June at its factory in Natori, Miyagi Prefecture, which has been suspended since the March 11 earthquake, Kyodo reported on April, 11.

It has not yet decided when to resume brewing there as it will take more time to restore its sewerage system, the firm said. Brewing at another plant in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, will be resumed from late April.

The firm's shipping capacity to the Tokyo metropolitan area will also improve from late April as its warehouse system will be partially restored soon, it said.
