E-Malt.com News article: Thailand: Asia Pacific Breweries announces new General Manager of its Thai operations

Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd (APB) announced on February, 11 that Mr Peter Ong will assume the position of General Manager, Thai Asia Pacific Brewery Co. Ltd (TAPB) from 15 February 2011.

With his appointment, Mr Ong will lead and oversee the business and brewery operations in Thailand.

Mr Ong was formerly Managing Director of Myanmar Brewery Ltd, a position he has held since 2006. Prior to his posting in Myanmar, he was General Manager of Cambodia Brewery Ltd in 1998 before being appointed as General Manager of Vietnam Brewery Ltd in 2002. For both stints, he was responsible for the development and profitability of the businesses in Cambodia and Vietnam. Through the various sales and commercial management roles that he has undertaken since 1992, Mr Ong had been instrumental in the growth and sales of APB’s beer brands.

Mr Ong succeeds Mr Panya Pongtanya who will retire from TAPB on 1 March 2011.
