E-Malt.com News article: India: Barley futures up on higher demand
Barley news

Barley prices improved by Rs 7.00, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 1,245 per quintal in futures trading owing to increased buying by traders, Business Standard reported on September, 17.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, barley prices for October contract went up by Rs 7.00, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 1,245 per quintal, with an open interest of 12,660 lots.

Current September-month contract too moved up in line with other contracts by Rs 3.80, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 1,214 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,540 lots.

Marketmen said pick-up in demand and restricted supply in physical markets put weight on prices in India’s futures market.
