The brewers of Ukraine produced about 12.35 million hl of beer in January-August this year. That is 12.5% more that in the same period last year, however the rate of beer production growth decreased, said the General Director of Ukrpivo, Galina Koryenkova.

From the beginning of the year beer production increased at SUN Interbrew Ukraine by 125.3%, ZAO Oboloni by 113.2%, BBH by 107.3%, ZAO Sarmat by 116.3%. According to Ukrpivo during 2002 there were produced about 15 million hl of beer in Ukraine. Analysts are predicting beer production to reach the volume of 16.5 million hl of beer in 2003.
