Brewery news

The Sierra Leone Brewery Limited has relaunched its Star lager beer, Awoko posted this week.

The ceremony took place at the Paddy’s International beach bar, Aberdeen, Freetown.

“Our reborn star is now clothed in a new label where we endorse the premium quality of the brand with the four bright and shinning stars, making our Star lager brand the latest” 4 Star General” in town. As the biggest single-selling brand in Sierra Leone, Star has every right to claim this title,” said SLBL CEO, Dr O J Mbonu.

Commercial Manager, T K Donkor explained that Star lager beer was first introduced in Sierra Leone in November 1962. Since then, the brand has been at the centre of social events, serving as the true social lubricant.

The “four Star General” was borne after the installation of a brand new ultra modern state-of-the art brewing machine at the Brewery’s Wellington factory. This new machine gives the beer premium quality, maintained the same alcoholic content and gives the beer a fresh and refreshing taste.
