Brewery news

Carlsberg Polska has expanded the capacity of its Okocim brewery, the Polish Market reported on April, 6.

The company has completed the installation of 18 fermentation tanks at its Okocim brewery in Brzesko (in the Malopolskie voivodship). As a result of this investment, the facility’s capacity increased to 400,000 hl of beer per month.

Company representatives emphasise that, along with this project, the cooling facility has been modernised to meet energy efficiency standards.

The total amount invested by Carlsberg in the Okocim brewery between 2002 and 2008 came to PLN 263.3 mln (€59.2 mln), including PLN 49.9 mln (€11.2 mln) in 2008 alone. As a result, the brewer’s annual capacity grew from 1.3 million hl to 3.6 million. The investment programme for 2009 - 2011 envisages PLN 95 mln (€21.3 mln).
