Latrobe Brewing Co., best known for its Rolling Rock beer, is rolling out a new low-carbohydrate beer. Rock Green Light is meant to capitalize on the low-carb dieting craze that"s seen Michelob Ultra grab nearly 3 percent of the U.S. beer market since it hit shelves last year. Rock Green Light will be in stores in 40 major U.S. markets by October. It will replace Rolling Rock Light -- the Pennsylvania brewery"s current light beer. Officials at the brewery, about 45 miles east of Pittsburgh, are hoping the new brew will help it reach capacity at its new high-tech bottling plant. That would be 1.5 million barrels a year.
