Swedish brewery company Kopparbergs Bryggeri AB issued its first quarter report, posting an operating loss of SEK1.4m, as compared to a loss of SEK4.1m in the first quarter of 2007, according to Nordic Business Report, May 27.

The net turnover including alcohol tax amounted to SEK265.7m, up from SEK233.6m in the first quarter last year.

The increase in turnover was to a large extent due to higher sales prices.

Earnings per share improved slightly, from a loss of SEK0.28 to a loss of SEK0.27.

Kopparbergs Bryggeri, headquartered in Kopparberg, Sweden, produces, sells and distributes beer, cider, spirits and soft drinks. The company reported a net turnover of SEK1.24bn in 2007.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.70 Swedish kronor (SEK).
