E-Malt.com News article: Canada: Pyramid Breweries signs Western Canada distributor

Pyramid Breweries Inc. said it's signed a deal with AFIC EXIM (Canada) Corp. to distribute its beers in British Columbia and Alberta in Western Canada, East Bay Business Times reported May 9.

The Seattle-based brewery, which announced last month that it was being acquired by Magic Hat Brewing Co. of Vermont for about $35 million, said all of its brand beers will be available in the two provinces.

"We are thrilled to have Pyramid beers finally available to Western Canadian beer drinkers, many of whom are already familiar with the Pyramid brand heritage from the Northwest," Paul Curhan, vice president of marketing and brand development for Pyramid, said in a statement.

In California, Pyramid operates a brewery in Berkeley, as well as alehouses in Berkeley, Walnut Creek and Sacramento.
