Brewery news

Britain’s oldest brewer, Faversham-based Shepherd Neame, has been named Regional Brewer of the Year at the pub industry’s gold-plated annual awards, Kent News reported March 20.

Organised by trade newspaper The Publican, 19 categories recognise the very best of the UK’s pub trade.

Chief executive Jonathan Neame was presented with the Regional Brewer of the Year Award by comedians Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins.

“This award is a significant accolade for everyone at Shepherd Neame, which recognises high achievement across the business. We have taken a lead on a number of industry issues to develop a more responsible and civilized drinking culture.

We brew great products in a sustainable and responsible manner and run great pubs that provide a welcoming, safe and individual environment”, Mr. Neame said.
