Beer sales to the general public will no longer be offered at Coors Events Center for University of Colorado basketball games, The Associated Press reported September 18.

Beer will still be available for private groups.

Eleven years ago, CU banned beer sales to the general public during football games. Athletic department officials said yesterday that the policy would be extended to Coors Events Center.

Colorado had been the only school in the Big 12 to sell beer to the general public at basketball games. No conference schools sell beer at football games.

Colorado State of the Mountain West Conference sells beer at football games at Hughes Stadium before halftime, but does not sell beer at home basketball games.
