Brewery news

Coopers Brewery had another premium performance at this year’s International Beer Awards in Melbourne, according to company’s press release, April 20.

The South Australian family brewer again won gold for its Premium Lager following its stunning debut at last year’s Awards, which saw Coopers take home three gold, nine silver and 10 bronze medals.

Coopers Managing Director, Dr Tim Cooper, said Coopers Premium Lager again proved its class as a gold medal winner. “Launched only 18 months ago, Coopers Premium Lager made a strong impression in its debut at the Australian International Beer Awards last year, claiming one gold medal and four silvers,” Dr
Cooper said.

“Again, at this year’s Awards – from among 941 entries from 189 brewers representing 39 countries – Coopers Premium Lager again picked up a gold and silver award. “This result tells us that we’ve got this beer absolutely right and that it can more than hold its own alongside the best the world has to offer.”

Both Coopers’ Premium Lager and Sparkling Ale won gold in the Packaged Division of the International Beer Awards.

Coopers Premium Lager won silver in the Draught Division, and Coopers Birell and Premium Light took silver in the Packaged Division. Bronze medal winners included Coopers Sparkling Ale, Stout and Premium Light in the Draught Division, with Coopers Stout and Premium Light also receiving bronze medals in the Packaged Division.
